The Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue attended and directed the evaluation conference of the cooperation economy and cooperatives
In the afternoon of January 19, Vietnam Cooperative Alliance held the Evaluation conference of development of the cooperation economy and cooperatives and the operation of Vietnam Cooperative Alliance system in 2018; and carrying out the working plan of 2019.

Attending and directing the conference was Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue, the Commissioner of the Political Ministry, Deputy Prime Minister, Head of Steering Committee of renovation and development of cooperation economy and cooperatives.
Attending the Conference was also Mr Nguyen Ngoc Bao, the secretary of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance’s communist party, the president of Vietnam Cooperative Alliance; Representatives of related ministries and departments; the members of the Executive Committee of Vietnam Cooperative Alliance; Representatives of cooperatives and the central press agencies.

Most cooperatives have provided the good input services to members; their management and performance competence have increased compared to 2017, the income of cooperatives and their members has also improved.
However, in addition to the achievements, there are still some limitations. For example, many cooperatives are small-scale, the management capacities are weak, having difficulties in linking to the input supply enterprises and product consumption... In 2019, Vietnam strives to establish 7,000 new cooperative groups; 2,500 cooperatives and 25 cooperative unions;
In 2018, Vietnam Cooperative Alliance supported to set up 77 models of value chain-based production and business cooperatives; each one was supported around 220 – 250 million and the loans for development from the Cooperative Development Fund, got consultancy and staff training, purchase of materials, machinery, equipment, investment processing facilities, trade promotion and investment… including 11 typical handicraft cooperatives and 66 agricultural cooperatives.
To help the cooperative sector develop sustainably, in 2019 the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance system strives to establish 7,000 new cooperative groups; 2,500 cooperatives and 25 cooperative unions.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue highly appreciated and noted the achievements Viet Nam Cooperative Alliance and its members have gained over the years.
The Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue expected that Vietnam Cooperative Alliance continued to mobilize all resources and consult to set up the new types of the value chain-based cooperatives, contributing to the cooperative development both in quantity and quality, well-organizing the annual cooperation economy forum and trade promotion fair for cooperatives; updating training courses; completing the mechanism and enhancing the cooperation with international organizations supporting the cooperatives... Vietnam Cooperative Alliance and the cooperation economy should be evaluated based on the Charter with its 7 functions and 12 assigned tasks.
Besides, the Deputy Prime Minister also proposed the ministries, departments, and leadership from different levels to take care of, to have close coordination and to facilitate for the sustainable development of cooperatives.
